From my bunker this weekend, I installed Manjaro Linux on a laptop - in the KDE Plasma flavor - and I am pleasantly surprised at just how great it is. Plasma provides a facade that will be familiar to Windows users, while exposing and enhancing access for all of Linux. Plasma is quite light and fast. Of special note are default keyboard shortcuts like F12 for a drop-down terminal and Alt-Space for system-wide search. Manjaro is a curated rolling release on top of ARCH and this can be a good scaffold for personal machines. I was able to quickly install latest versions of open source apps I use routinely on Windows, like Firefox, Brave, VS Code, Anaconda, and Blender. There are now well reviewed 64-bit releases of ARCH and Manjaro for the Raspberry Pi 4, but I don't yet have personal experience with those.
