I drew things as I happened upon them. It became a way to communicate to myself the things I had no words to utter, things that spoke to me in ways that did not require them. I sketched to capture a moment that would not return. To capture a place that would tell people I was standing alongside thousands more, but without a sense of trite initiation. The sketches unfinished—the moments unfinished.
