The Pre-flood Biblical Patriarchs versus the pre-flood Sumerian kings There were 8 Pre-flood Biblical kings, because Noah never did rule as king before the flood, and Lamech (The son of Methuselah) died before his father, and thus never ruled. This means that the 8 kings that according to genesis ruled before the flood are the same as the 8 kings that ruled before the flood, according to the Sumerian king-lists). To further verify that these kings are identical, I will urge people to read the Sumerian tablet called “The instructions of Shuruppag”, because in this Sumerian tablet we learn that the Sumerian name of Lamech (Noah’s father) is Shuruppag, and that his father (Methuselah) is named Ubara-Tutu. Noah is in this tablet named Zi-ud-sura. These three names are the same as the three last Sumerian names that ruled before the flood (according to the Sumerian king-lists). We can thus conclude that the Sumerian pre-flood kings (as mentioned in the Sumerian king-lists) are the same as the 8 pre-flood Biblical kings. However. Their rule-time as it is given to us in the Sumerian king-lists are sadly corrupted. In the table below, we can see that even though these kings lived for a long time, their rule-time was not that long. The longest rule-time is probably held by Adam who might have ruled for over 400 years, followed by Jared who ruled for a whopping 281 years. Also note that Methuselah might have been the founder if the Sumerian city called Shuruppag, which he then named after his son Shuruppag. However it might also have been founded by Shuruppag himself, who named it after his own name, which was the most common in those days. Also note that the Sumerian Pantheon (people like, Anu, Enlil, Enki, Utu, Ninurta and others) never ruled as kings, because they were Gods. That’s why they are not mentioned in the Sumerian king-lists. Methuselah, Lamech and Noah all lived in the city of Shuruppag. That is also the city where Noah built his ark. Adam and Seth lived in the city of Eridug and must thus have been a contemporary of Enki who was the one that was organizing and introducing the first civilization in pre-flood Sumer. Enki might have started out as the first “king in name only” of Sumer, but probably appointed Adam as king later on. Also. It seems likely that the Sumerian Gods are the same as the Biblical watchers.
