The County Commissioners will hold a Public Hearing on the Utility Scale Wind and Solar Map on Thursday, September 22nd at the County Commissioner’s Office at 9am. This is a chance for you to voice your opinion on this matter. The County Commissioners have the option of granting a huge tax break which would most certainly invite solar to Champaign County. Is this good? Is this bad? Do you want your voice heard? If so, this Thursday at 9am is the time to do it. The Champaign County Commissioners have published a notice that they will consider adoption of a map which is posted at public libraries and the commissioners office, showing where industrial solar may or may not be installed. The purpose of this hearing is to listen to the voices of the people of Champaign County.
