I am glad I went up Mt. Patterson when I did. A fire started in the Sweetwater Mountains not far from where we visited. Stone Cabin was safe but Belfort could have been at risk. The fire was contained quickly, amazing for such rugged and inaccessible area. Thank you fire crews.๐ Most people know this site as "Stone Cabin", after searching I found it is the Montague Mine. The cabin is in great condition but a corner is starting to collapse down the mountain. I'm off to the central California coast for 10 days. I love the desert but a girl has to get her ocean time and I am ready for a break from the heat. I have a couple historical sites I hope to visit but mostly we will be relaxing and eating lots of great seafood. I and trying to decide which ghost town to schedule for next week, I have a few I haven't shared.
