The government should not force a church to redefine marriage. It should not force a religious minister to officiate a same-sex wedding. It also should not tell two law-abiding adults that their civil marriage, property rights, parental responsibilities, and family protections disappear because a political convention disapproves of them. Gays For Liberty calls on Republican organizations to remove language demanding that Obergefell be nullified or that legally married gay couples be denied civil recognition. Republicans should replace those provisions with a principled commitment to religious liberty, equal protection, parental responsibility, and government neutrality. The Left does not own gay Americans. The Right should not reject us. Liberty belongs to everyone, or eventually it belongs to no one.
