It is bluster. Trump has had 3.5 years to do something about this and hasn't. He should mandate that all social media be interoperable using protocols such as #ActivityPub. Remember when Trump got Ajit Pai to scrap net neutrality? He should have done the opposite, i.e. extended it from the tcp/ip layer to the message layer, by mandating this interoperability. At the same time he should have banned states from banning cities from having municipal ISPs. Because Comcast is one of the most hated companies in America, and no-one whether they are on the left or the right, wants to have to pay through the nose to get shitty internet service from a monopoly supplier.
