Paul tells us that the 40 years generation and first exodus was a "TYPE" of the salvation that was coming in the first century Church (1 Cor. 10:11BLB). Moses also had a very developed "last days" eschatology of the coming Messiah in Deuteronomy 31:29--32:43 and 33:7-17 and Jesus said "ALL" of this would be fulfilled in His contemporary generation which was the one Moses prophesied of (Mt. 17:17=Deut. 32:5, 20; Mt. 24:34; Lk. 21:22-32).
