He went from the Battle of Midway to a time and place that he loved. Everyone's been focusing on the time aspect, being the wilder idea. "If time is movement and somehow you can enter and exit time imagine everything becomes possible as to where you will end up"... Teleportation through space must be an inherent part of Ben's ability. Following that, if we go by MacGregor's writings, Jesus and Ben have this ability in common. I bet it played a large role in their mutual understanding and friendship.
