And now for something completely different... Gondola is one of my favourite memes. For all that it descended from the crassness of Pedobear and absurdity of Spurdo Spärde, in parts of the internet, Gondola came to evoke various deeper emotions -- from melancholy and Sehnsucht (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sehnsucht) to more positive senses like wonder, joy and comfort -- as art and beauty are wont to do, while also leaving room for humour depending on the creator's whims. The character being armless and usually mute removes emphasis on direct action and communication as seen with so many other memes, letting atmosphere come to the fore. Being a socially-awkward introvert without much life experience an average person could take seriously, I feel a sort of kinship with the little bear. Just because one isn't talking or visibly acting -- as my Gab page might suggest to some -- doesn't mean they have nothing to offer.
