Whenever an institution like the Fed owned by people with an interest in free asset accumulation is provided an opportunity to manage anything where mismanagement is far more profitable than good management, the institution will most likely engage in mismanagement. No matter the true cause of our many problems, the people always pay like in 2008 when we bailed out the gigantic gambling losses incurred by the banking industry."
