Started another small engine project the other day... This is from a 2009 honda reconES it's a 229cc single piston 4 cycle motor. It was idling one morning and just quit!! Once I checked for all the usual stuff(fuel, spark, etc) and it was good I started leaning to valves...turns out the timing chain had stretched to the point of skipping a tooth!!! I was hoping to just throw a new chain in it but the teeth on the crankshaft were too far gone and there was a bit of piston scuffing ๐ฎ...so it'll be getting a new crank, piston, jug, oil pump, cam chain, cam tensioner, cam follower, shaft and a few other things just because I'll have it all pulled apart anyways ๐ค I had to make a few special tools to remove the clutches and stuff. Plus they stake the nuts on the crank the hold the clutches on...some guys just run the nuts off without doing anything with the staking...the says die grind the stake then replace the nuts.... I made a tool to pry the staking away from the shaft. .just a chain file cut dow to about five inches and grind the end to fit in between the nut staking then hammer it out ๐
