June or July or something around there is PTSD awareness week/month, or whatever. But life comes at you fast and just haven't had much time for blab lately. Better late than never, though. PTSD in cancer survivors. Yeah. It can happen, although in most cases for us it will just be a lot of post-traumatic stress symptoms, and NOT the full blown "disorder". It's important to distinguish that just having post-traumatic stress symptoms is a very NORMAL thing to have after a traumatic experience such as cancer or any life-threatening situation. It's very different from full blown PTSD where you have the symptoms and they never turn off. That's not normal, and typically requires intervention of some sort. Having "PTSD symptoms" after cancer is very normal. There's nothing wrong with you, so don't feel bad about it. I write about this more in my blog series about PTSD after cancer, but here's the primer article here. #cancer #CancerSurvivors #CancerSurvivorProblems #PTSD #PTSDAfterCancer #YACancerbySteve http://www.stevepake.com/cancer-blog/2015/5/28/a-snapshot-of-post-traumatic-stress
