The Gnostic Myth. "The serpent is the giver of wisdom to man, and God is man's oppressor.” The creation of the world is the work of a lower, bad god, or in the terminology of the Greek philosopher Plato, "Demiurgos" (a "creator god", but a lower god). Therefore, this "defection from the foolish god" is a "god" orientation, and the "serpent" who urged it is the one who gave man the wisdom to escape the oppression of the "lower foolish gods" and come to the true God.
