🚨🔥Palisades Fire has burned 1,262 Acres 🔥🚨 30,000 ORDERED TO EVACUATE AS FIRE BURNS OUT OF CONTROL, BURNING LAND AT A RATE OF ABOUT 3 FOOTBALL FIELDS EVERY MINUTE SINCE IT BEGAN. The fire has been whipped by strong winds up to 100 miles per hour. These are the strongest winds So Cal has seen in more than 10 years, AND THEY ARE EXPECTED TO CONTINUE INTO WEDNESDAY MORNING. It started this morning at 10:30 am and the cause is still under investigation. LOCATION: Southeast of Palisades Drive, Pacific Palisades [34.07022,-118.54453] THREATENED STRUCTURES: 10,000 homes and 13,000 structures, per Fire Chief Kristin Crowley of LAFD. FIREFIGHTERS: Over 250 firefighters are working to contain the fire, with help from other agencies. An unofficial report is that one firefighter is allegedly down. EVACUATION: About 30 vehicles at Sunset Blvd and Palisades Drive were abandoned; LA County bulldozer had to plow them to access the mountain leading up to Pacific Palisades. This is the only one main street up to the homes, save for one small evacuation street up on top of the mountain. Evacuation Orders - Immediate threat to life. This is a lawful order to LEAVE NOW. The area is lawfully closed to public access. Evacuation Orders are in effect for the following zones: LOS-Q0767, MAL-C111-A, MAL-C111-B, RMB-U030-A, SSM-U010-A, SSM-U010-B, TOP-U001, TOP-U002, TOP-U003, TOP-U004, TOP-U005, TOP-U006, TOP-U007, TOP-U008, TOP-U009 Evacuation Warnings- Potential threat to life and/or property. Those who require additional time to evacuate, and those with pets and livestock should leave now. It is the largest safety shutoff event ever, placed by So. Calif. Edison. CONTAINMENT = 0%. Over 1,260 acres have burned and 6,000 structures are threatened. FEMA: FEMA approved a Fire Management Assistance Grant (FMAG) to help ensure the availability of vital resources to suppress the fire. SITUATION SUMMARY: Extreme fire behavior, including short and long-range spotting, continues to challenge firefighting efforts for the Palisades Fire.
