We stopped by the 'Great American Guitar Show' in Oaks, PA yesterday. They do a Summer and Fall event there. I was surprised to see such a crowd and turn out as the summer tends to be a bit more modest in buzz. It's nothing but independent shops and builders, not one corporation in sight except for a Guitar Center table that was empty when I arrived (looked like they didn't even show up). I think we may do a table at their November show to make custom cables to length, have some luthier files on hand, and showcase some rebuilds. It's refreshing to not see any major corporations at a show like this; just alot of people with a passion for music instruments and the industry, and alot of money changing hands. I never saw such an abundance of vintage gear in such great shape. A friend purchased a 'Heritage' guitar, made in Kalamazoo, Michigan with all the old Gibson machines at the old Gibson factory. Beautiful guitar, and excellent playing!
