Step-by-step install
iPhone & iPad
SafariSafari only. Chrome and Firefox on iOS cannot add apps to the home screen.
- Open Safari and go to gab.com.
- Let the page finish loading.
- Tap the Share button in the toolbar.
- Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.
- Confirm the name and tap Add.
Android
ChromeChrome is most reliable. Samsung Internet and other Chromium browsers work the same way.
- Open Chrome and go to gab.com.
- Let the page finish loading.
- Tap the menu in the top-right corner.
- Tap Install app or Add to Home screen.
- Confirm. The Gab icon lands on your home screen.
Desktop & laptop
Nothing to install on Mac, Windows, or Linux — open gab.com in any modern browser. The web interface is full-featured, and most heavy users work from the desktop rather than a phone.
Chrome and Edge can also install Gab as a PWA from the install icon in the address bar if you want it in a dedicated window.
Why there is no App Store version
Apple removed Gab in 2018 and Google removed it in 2017. Between them, those two companies control essentially all mobile app distribution, which makes store removal an effective way to cut a platform off from its users.
Gab built the PWA so that no gatekeeper sits between you and the platform again. Gab does not distribute a native Android APK — if you find one elsewhere, it did not come from Gab.
