Hunter SHARK JAW Restoration Future safety measure questions for you guys to ask!!!!!!! This is the last post I’ll do on this matter as we have definitely proved our point and been heard. There’s just a few things I’ve been keeping my mouth shut about to see if the authorities will do it but obviously they won’t. Firstly, if they want to genuinely improve safety, they need to head up to Qld from August and tag every female over 3m and every male over 2.5m they can catch, that way they can see when the first lot of big sharks are starting their journey south again and put the warning out there that they are on the move. Secondly, they need to get the data from the sharks already tagged there and put it in the NSW database instead of competing with each other, I’ve been watching the tagged sharks and they only register when they are originally tagged in NSW, the Qld universities have heaps more tagged and I know they make the journey from up there as the tag I’m holding in the photo was from a shark I caught in port Stephens that was originally tagged in Cairns. If public safety is first and foremost, let the public actually know where the sharks are, not just the ones caught in NSW. Third, stop hiding stuff, I know for a fact, the university student that disappeared at schoolies at Xmas time was almost completely eaten, only a small portion of the body was recovered on the beach a few days later, yet it was never once mentioned in the media. It’s not good enough to wait until the sharks are already in Sydney to start trying to tag them, there was only 1 attack inside the harbour and the rest were on the beaches. If you want the glory of doing a good job and actually helping people you need to start north and get them before they spread throughout the estuaries, at least this way you might at least be able to spread a bit of awareness and look like you know what your doing. Thanks to everyone that has helped us get the msg out there this season and we will be starting earlier next season and to the north as well, we will continue to show what’s out there and remove what we can along the way. Now hopefully we can get a couple more before we’re done this season, just having a few days rest and we will be back at it. #safetyfirst #PublicAwareness #Amazing #beach #fyp #safety #socialmedia #trending #viral #fyp #foryou #share #questions #shark #bullshark #today #trendingnow
