# At least 5 dead after Amazon cargo plane barreled off runway at Miami airport An Amazon cargo plane overran a runway and crashed near a roadway at Miami International Airport around 2 p.m. Sunday, killing at least five people. County officials said three were critically injured and two others hospitalized with less severe wounds. The Prime Air flight, operated by cargo carrier 21 Air, had arrived from San Juan, Puerto Rico. The 32-year-old Boeing 767 came to rest on its belly beside two semi-trucks, trapping the pilot and copilot in the cockpit and some occupants in cars, rescue officials said. Thick black smoke billowed over the busy travel hub. About 250 flights were delayed as fire crews battled a fuel leak hours after the crash. The National Transportation Safety Board has dispatched a team led by Chairwoman Jennifer Homendy to investigate.
