Hello everyone, I know I've been pretty quiet as of late, but I've had good reason. My friends who are on Discord already know what's going on. My girlfriend Peach Wookiee died in her sleep. It happened at night between August 26th and August 27th. The medical examiners later said it was the end result of a brain bleed. I have suspicions about what caused it. My girlfriend had been teaching at a preschool with no backup for the past several years. She also had asthma and had been through two bouts with COVID. Also, the school she'd worked at so long shut down forever earlier this year. And all that pressure finally caught up with the woman I love. Right now, I can say I'm hurting a lot. Some people out there might think it's not at all Generation X of me to talk about my feelings, or to cry for her. But I can't help it as this was the woman I loved. I gave almost 10 years of my life to her. We were two peas in a pod. We were both aspies (People with Asperger's Syndrome). We shared a love of Transformers G1, Star Trek, Yu-Gi-Oh, Inuyasha and many things geeky and nerdy. As someone who is both legally blind and has Asperger's finding someone is hard. Most women especially those in Gen X when they saw I'm handicapped were this. "Ew get away from me with your handicap cooties...ew!" So yeah finding that special someone is hard, super hard!  With tensions built up between men and women because of the Lindsay Clancy case it adds to the gloom I'm feeling. I hate tribalism of any kind! The woman I love is gone forever and I'm trying to crawl out of this pit of despair, but it's not easy. I imagine for the rest of September there will be times where I will off and on break down into fitts of cryinng. Now I understand what my Grandpa Ballentine went through when he lost my Grandma. I can also say there will be no pictures or critique of Sakura-Con 2027. There are too many memories from the previous conventions with my girlfriend. Rest in Peace Peach Wookiee 1980 - 2026. I love you Watanabi no boku (my flower) and I'll never forget you. Even as I struggle to carry on in this increasingly insane world.
