Most recently, she and her organisation have been seen counter-protesting groups of concerned parents—many of them mothers and grandmothers—in the wake of a string of sexual assault charges against asylum seekers. That’s just the activism you can see. Behind closed doors, SUTR-linked activists have reportedly been targeting councillors who’ve had the courage to speak out, particularly those raising awareness about migrants being charged with sexual offences involving underage girls. Cllr George #Madgwick revealed yesterday that he has been bombarded with complaints from activists tied to the group in an apparent effort to have him ousted. The kicker? It’s reportedly costing #Portsmouth taxpayers thousands in administration just to process the barrage of complaints. This comes after news broke that #PortsmouthCityCouncil’s CEO, Natalie #BrahmaPearl, allegedly tried to conceal the asylum seeker background of a man charged with sexual assault. She called councillors in the middle of the night to persuade them not to speak publicly, for fear, unsurprisingly, of “inflaming community tensions.” So #Madgewick decided to go public and call her out. Just goes to evidence yet again how vindictive and spiteful some in Stand Up to Racism really are. We are simply talking about transparency, so parents can be informed and better protect their children. Instead, activists from Stand Up to Racism now appear intent not just on smearing those parents at protests, but also on punishing the few elected officials trying to fight for transparency.
