Do certain folks not call earth "mother-earth " ? What about nature? Ever heard the phrase "mother-nature?" "Watchers" are mentioned in Daniel, & it is believed that certain, what we commonly call "angels" were given stewardship over parts of the earth like the reptile sector, the rivers & oceans, etc., etc. Thus how worship & sacrifice to such like in the account of the plagues of Egypt which included judgments against their false gods (fallen watchers who allowed man to worship them???) It all has connection, but here, while personification is applied, it's not in the sense of rivers or hills having souls or such, but rather simply creation glorifying God. Even the trees raise their branches Heavenwardly, how much more should man raise his arms in praise of God?
