In a certain sense, even within the most right wing Christian communities in America, we've abdicated what was previously a community responsibility to the individual: that of matchmaking. In previous centuries, if they didn't have arranged marriages or betrothals, they at least had getting their young people to marry each other a conscious, often explicitly stated goal of community social activities. These days, the community has given this responsibility over to the individual and then the individual has in turn given it over to the corporation, which has in turn given it over to the algorithm. Is that really better? Even the worst arranged marriages were at least arranged by a person.
