For those who are confused by passages in their Bibles... ...and are starting to consider that it's a Mandela effect, or that they are supernaturally being changed by demonic forces and betray your memory. Please look again... Do you not see that this is largely an English-speaking, English culture, and KJV phenomenon? This is one of the problems with English Bibles. But its not without rational explanations... many of these peculiar "misremembering" are conflations and compressions of the way we memorize things Luke 5:24 ("Bed / Walk"): the KJV reads "couch." "Take up thy bed, and walk" is the literal text of John 5:8–9. Mark 5:28 ("Hem of his garment"): KJV reads "touch but his clothes." "Hem of his garment" is the parallel text in Matthew 9:20 and Luke 8:44. Some late Greek manuscripts of Mark 5:27 added *του κρασπεδου*, showing that ancient scribes made the exact same harmonizing move as modern readers! Luke 6:49 ("House upon the sand / winds"): KJV reads "earth." "Sand" and "winds" belong to Matthew 7:26. The Bible Mandela effect of the scriptures found in the KJV, all have historical lineages. We have records for the conflations, for the oddities, for the unfamiliar, and for how we remember certain passages in ways that aren't reflected in the other languages. Go to the original languages, read the DSS, the LXX, the Aramaic, the Greek, the Hebrew, the Latin... You'll find differences in them, yes but not the kind that are being claimed according to Bible Mandela effect. Now these were more noble-minded than those in Thessalonica, for they received the word with great eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see whether these things were so. — Acts 17:11 🙏
