Technically speaking: The American People shouldn't have "citizen passports'' when travelling abroad. Since the government is below us all in stature. We should have passports as "Ambassadors" representing America and our fellow Americans. Uniquely in all the world with our specific Bill of Right & Constitution. I say this to demonstrate as one out of many examples how far this corporation of a federal government has corrupted itself. And corrupted our rights to life & liberty. And our sovereignty. All done with crafty willing subterfuge to break the Constitutional bond that keeps government in check. It is not "OUR GOVERNMENT" in any way. Not any longer. It is an entity untoward it's own self removed from the people in totality. And that is the dangerous part most America people can't wrap their heads around.
