While good deeds are to be done in secret generally, there is nothing wrong with texting, calling, or emailing people to let them know that you are praying for them. I think most people would be relieved to know that someone out there is lifting their name before God's throne. I know I'm thrilled to hear it when someone tells me they are praying for me.
