First of all, I want to say, I am sad that innocent people are suffering in Ukraine & my heart goes out to everyone affected. Honestly, I believed a political resolution would be found but it shows its extremely difficult to predict what is ahead. But, however sad we are we need to deal with the reality of investing. This week we saw an extreme amount of volatility. Russian President, Vladimir Putin declared the recognition of Western Regions of Ukraine (Luhansk & Donetsk) as independent. He then went onto say Russia would conduct ''peace keeping missions'' in these rebel territories (aka invade). They have since invaded Ukraine & there is unsubstantiated reports over 1,000 Russian troops & 196 numbers Ukrainians have tragically died so far. The Russians invaded the Chernobyl nuclear site & have taken control of Hostomel airfield near Kyiv. Ukraine has handed out 18,000 machine guns to volunteers to defend themselves.
