Currently working on my next assignment /gig. I am composing additional music on this upcoming sequel to The Deep Ones. The principle composer - Richard Band - scored the first movie and returns to score this sequel. Since i proved my composing and technical abilities on Scalper, Richard Band asked me back to do some additional work on this movie to help build my professional portfolio. The goal he is wanting achieve with me is to at some point be able to hand off a project in its entirety to me which will help lead to more gigs and not just through him. So he threw me about 5 cues to do under which he then directs me in the same way a director would. He reviews each cue and instructs me on what needs adjustment, what needs changing as parts may not be working for the scene. But what may not work for one scene may work on another so the efforts are never truly lost or rejected. But I tend to hit the mark 90% of the time. I will most likely be credited as a Music Assistant (as well as under my Real Name) as is the common practice in the industry. That’s being generous too as most are deemed Ghost Writers and never receive any credit. Oh, I got paid too.
