First Mattel due to the use of Barbie like dolls as the actors and then Richard Carpenter himself had it shut down due to the use of their songs. It became an underground Legend and copies of copies made the rounds. I can't imagine Richard Carpenter was too thrilled with how it represented his mother and himself. It really was a labor of love and it took a year and a half to produce. They used Barbie like dolls because the dolls if they were real would be anorexic. They made all the furniture used in the house scenes. It's different, kind of quirky and pays homage to Karen Carpenter, voice of an Angel, Gone Too Soon.😢
