Yuletide blessing to all Germanic peoples. Yule represents the death of the dark and the coming of the light. The winter solstice is the darkest day of the year leading into longer and longer days for the next 6 months until the summer solstice where the cycle starts again. It's a little weirder down here in the southern hemisphere as the seasons are the opposite way around, your winter solstice is our summer one. It is what it is I guess.
