This classic StosselTV episode features how the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 proved surprisingly counterproductive, as it significantly reduced employment for people with disabilities (from 51% to 33%) due to both burdensome regulations and fear of lawsuits---and, moreover, that a few unscrupulous lawyers have even exploited this law to try to extort businesses for settlement money. I might add that regulatory law to partially control businesses, unlike criminal law to help defend God-given rights, is typically counterproductive, especially because regulatory agencies are routinely captured by their largest regulatees.
