Gnosticism (from the Greek gnosis, meaning direct knowledge) teaches that beyond this flawed material cosmos exists a transcendent, true divine source — pure consciousness and perfect fullness. Humanity, in this framework, contains a “divine spark,” a fragment of that higher reality trapped within physical form. This worldview reframes central religious narratives.
