CalyxOS has announced the release of version 7.2.2.0, based on Android 16. Users with an older version will need to re-flash their devices with this latest build. All user data WILL BE ERASED. From the CalyxOS team: "We recommend that you choose the Web Installer if it is available for your device. This is our web-based, step-by-step installation wizard to ease your installation process. Right now, the Web Installer only works for Pixel and Motorola devices." See the full announcement and installation instructions at https://calyxos.org/news/2026/07/01/calyxos-official-release-is-back/ Understand that flashing your device will completely wipe all user data. It is recommended that you make a back-up of your personal data first (contacts, photos, videos, app data). If you need help, see our step-by-step guide at https://digitalprivacy.shop/blog/operating_systems/transfer-personal-data-from-android. If you are not comfortable using CalyxOS’s web installer, you can mail your device to us to install the latest build (or another de-googled OS of your choice). Simply purchase the Degoogling Service and use code RENEW2026 at checkout to receive 50% off... The price includes return shipping. https://digitalprivacy.shop/degoogling-service If upgrading your primary phone, it is a good idea to have a back-up phone to use while the other is being serviced. Moving the SIM card to a back-up phone is usually all you need to do.
