@AnthonyBoy Thank you Anthony for that explanation. Your position is becoming more clear to me. I had actually thought of Spock as you described humanism earlier. The thing that was described in today's devotion and on the websites linked earlier does exist. It seems to me there are two (maybe more) camps that exist under the same umbrella of Humanism. Similar to many religions that call themselves Christian - many of which I would classify as cults. In the circles that I run in what was described today and listed on the humanism website is what I and those around me see as humanism. I guess it can be summed up as, "We (mankind) are our own god." I feel your pain having to share a label with a group that doesn't match your values. I get what you are saying as being wired that way. My journey to Christ was a long bumpy one that I fought. I wanted so much to be an atheist so I didn't have to be accountable. I was pulled toward Christ. Like many before me, I set out to disprove God so I could live peaceably as an atheist, but the more i studied the more I realized that the complexity of the universe and our own bodies could not have happened by chance. Once I conceded that we were created, the question then became which God. Once again I took an analytical approach, and determined it had to be Jesus.
