Many of the people attacking Byron Donalds keep pointing to data centers as if that one issue erases his entire congressional record. Let’s look at the record. Heritage Action currently gives Donalds a 97% lifetime conservative score and a 100% score for the current session. Conservative Review’s Liberty Score currently rates him 100% conservative as well. (Heritage Action) Donalds has consistently positioned himself as a conservative on limited government, taxes, immigration, school choice, parental rights, Second Amendment rights, and pro-life policies. He is also a member of the House Freedom Caucus and has been one of the more prominent conservative voices in Congress. (Politico) And on data centers, the argument is even weaker than his critics make it sound. Donalds has proposed legislation specifically designed to prevent AI data centers from driving up utility costs for ordinary Floridians. His position is essentially: build the technology—but don’t make Florida families pay the bill. (WLRN) So let’s have an honest debate. You can disagree with Byron Donalds. You can question his policies. You can debate data centers. But if you’re going to call yourself a conservative Republican while ignoring a 97% lifetime Heritage Action score, you should at least explain why.
