An Ohio judge gave just 20 days after an illegal immigrant trucker k*lled a dad and his 11-year-old on I-75!! ⠀ Hurshel Gipson, 52, and his son Michael, 11, d*ed Feb. 28 when a semi hit stopped traffic near mile marker 118 in Allen County. Amanda Gipson, 45, was driving the Buick and was seriously hurt. ⠀ Yvio Michel, 53, of Boynton Beach, Florida, was the tractor-trailer driver. Ohio State Highway Patrol said he failed to yield to a backup from a vehicle fire and struck multiple cars, pinning the Gipsons' SUV. ⠀ Judge Tammie K. Hursh found him guilty in Lima Municipal Court after a no-contest plea to negligent hom*cide and vehicular mansl*ughter. Both counts are misdemeanors. She stacked two mandatory 10-day terms. ⠀ On the first count she imposed 90 days with 80 suspended. On the second she imposed 180 days with 170 suspended. He is due out Sept. 21. ⠀ His lawyer told the court in March that Michel is a Haitian national seeking asylum. That hearing also put on the record that he was living in the country illegally. ICE has a detainer and is expected to take him from the Allen County Jail when the 20 days are up. ⠀⠀ #Ohio #I75
