Maybe an odd thought and I don't really need a theological explanation (I'll explore that in person with a friend who is steeped in theology) but I'm not sure I trust the churches and Christian music going all in on the various names of God. I don't want to be praying to the god who goes by the name Jehovah if that's not the Christian God The Father, Maker of All. And since there is a certain crowd that doesn't have a problem with lying to unbelievers and there are sects who are really just demon or devil worshipers, I think it makes sense to be specific and not just do the "they're all the same god." I don't think that's true or at least I want to be careful and not be giving ANY energy to the wrong god. That would be just what an evil being would want and what its followers would encourage. Some will say that the Old Testament is a starting place for the New Testament but if that's true then why is the New Covenant even needed and why do the muslims and jews still go with their version?
