Greetings from occupied New York! In the last few days we have seen the ascending of communists. As a patriot I was mortified to hear the news that communists are gaining power and culture, communism has always been a threat to western civilization. In history we are taught what it means to live under occupation in the revolutionary war or occupied France in ww2. From this history we learn even when civilization is defamed there is hope for our country. Our values have survived and our faith has survived many occupations. We know that Judeo-Christian vales have been a beacon of hope and beaten communism before with Reagan winning the cold war. We know that unlike the communists our rights come from G_D and we know about the breadlines and Castro and I have met people from Cuba in FL. We need to protect the disabled from assisted suicide because the government does not see the value of humans except those they deem worthy and there is no free speech in communism. For those of us who remember 911 and Rudy this is scary, there is a reason why there was a push to go to Afghanistan not because of racism but to defend ourselves. One does not have to be republican to understand. David wasn’t supposed to beat Golith and he did and we observe Hanukkah. We know we have linage in Israel. We must remember we were chosen on mount sinai to carry out commandments.n So many times they have tried to kill us in Europe Africa and the middle east and we are still here. Hashem knew this would not be easy because Israel means struggle with G-D. As we wind down for the sabbath we should remember even in dark times there were weddings in concentration camps and sabbath was observed, our mitzvah brings life and light to the world.
