When I go out of my way to let you merge into heavy traffic I expect a thank you wave. Not a parade or a gift card, just acknowledgement of my effort on your behalf. I learned on Romper Room to say please and thank you, I'm no longer sure anybody else did. I get tired of trying to hold civilization together by sheer force of will.
