From my mother’s collection, this simple, yet elegant, two-cent Dutch stamp came from a design that ran from 1946-1985. With no date printed on this stamp, it is difficult to ascertain its exact age. However, my mother collected from circa 1975-1980, so this postage likely dates from the 1960’s or, more likely, the 1970’s. The pattern itself is styled *Arabesque*, for the two swirls, one on each side of the numeral, and was drawn by the Dutch typeface designer, Jan Van Krimpen (1892-1958).
