Three. To. Five. Laughton pleaded guilty to three counts of sexual exploitation of children. Prosecutors said Laughton encouraged a former partner who worked at a daycare to send explicit images of toddlers. Laughton was elected in Nashua more than once despite a long record of arrests, criminal charges, and controversy — and resigned only after being jailed on these charges. The partner, Lindsay Groves, was sentenced to 22 years. Thirty-three years behind bars is where this belongs. A former lawmaker. Daycare children. A 33-year sentence. That should have been national news. Instead, most of the country never heard a word.
