The book of Genesis outlines God’s creation of the earth and all life, including mankind. God created the herbs of the field to be food for mankind (Genesis 1:26-29). After the fall of man, God expanded the foods that man could eat to include many animals and birds (Genesis 9:3-4). Over time, mankind has developed many foods that God did not intend for us to eat. This has resulted in declining health and increasing disease among the human population. The lifestyle conveniences that are common in Western cultures contribute to health issues due to a sedentary lifestyle. To survive, we are no longer required to build with our hands or grow and hunt our own food. Instead, we can enlist other people to perform the physical labor or to develop the skills that we choose not to learn. Our survival depends not upon our own self-sufficiency, but on resources distributed by corporations. These corporations are concerned with money and profit, not the health of consumers. Processed food, genetically modified organisms, synthetic medications, chemicals and metals all contribute to our declining health and shortened lifespans. God created our bodies to be self-healing and they will repair in the ideal environment with the right resources. The skin is self-repairing, self-maintaining and constructed from nutrients provided by one’s diet. Skincare products can only amplify the effects of good diet and healthy lifestyle choices. Healthy living requires us to live according to God’s intention. We must move away from consumerism and return to God as provider (Genesis 22:14; Job 38:39-41).
