RELATIVITY: "It's been 25 years; 100m Americans weren't even born yet." That's about as far as the attempt at parallels goes. In 1966, 25 years after Pearl Harbor, America was enthusiastically well into its love affair with Japanese cars and motorcycles, while American bands toured Japan to adoring crowds. ('Old-timers' in their 40s grumbled some about this.) But today? The strife, violence, animosity and existential threats between America and the Middle East and Deep State continue to grow exponentially. (This is true whether 911 is taken as an attack, an inside job, or both, with each seizing opportunity from the other.)
