If we want to understand God and the Bible, we must first LOVE God big-time. We need to have God as our first love (if we list every thing we love, God is first). People who wholeheartedly love God are given Biblical understanding from God over the years, bit by bit, as they prayerfully read and study the Bible daily. God sees their heart's deep desire for God, and the things of God, and God blesses their understanding. Without a genuine deep love for God, our Biblical understanding will be weak and incomplete. God talks to individuals, as we love God and prayerfully read and study the Bible daily. As we prayerfully read and study the Bible from cover to cover repeatedly, we will often come across Bible verses that reveal that we have been taught things that are Biblically incorrect, or only partly correct. We will need to deeply love God and prayerfully study the Bible, seeking God for the correct answers. We need to GENUINELY receive the Holy Spirit; the Holy Spirit will guide us into the truth. We need to regularly attend a good Bible believing church (a church which believes the complete Bible). God sends people to teach us the ways of God. But not everyone is sent by God; beware, some people are not teaching the genuine ways of God. We need the Holy Spirit dwelling inside of us, to be able to discern which teachings are genuinely from God. I can only say a tiny bit in a short post.
