—THE DEVASTATING ECONOMIC IMPACT OF MASS IMMIGRATION ON GERMAN REGIONS— (PART 2) Impact On Public Finances And Economic Outlook The consequences of these migration policies are reflected in Germany's economic outlook. The government has had to lower its economic forecasts for 2026, now expecting GDP growth of 1%, down from the previously predicted 1.3%, and 1.3% in 2027, compared to the previous 1.4%. Germany has narrowly avoided a third consecutive year of recession, and "the country's long-awaited economic recovery still fails to materialize." The Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy, Katherina Reiche, has acknowledged that the country faces "unfavorable" demographic trends that exacerbate structural economic problems. Despite some reports suggesting that "the labor integration of immigrants has had a positive impact on the German economy," fiscal data and economic projections indicate otherwise. The positive net migration mentioned in some reports does not necessarily translate into net economic benefits for the German population. The Fiscal Cost Of Failed #Integration Beyond the direct costs of housing and maintenance, German regions face the massive challenge of integrating millions of people with different languages, cultures, and educational levels. According to the German Federal Government's 2023 Migration Report, immigration from Europe is predominant, representing 63.4% of arrivals. However, a significant portion of immigrants from non-European regions faces greater difficulties integrating into the formal labor market. This has created a chronic dependence on the welfare system that regions cannot sustain in the long term. Irreversible Demographic Transformation Between 2014 and 2024, Germany's population increased by more than 3.5 million, driven exclusively by immigration. During this period, the number of German citizens decreased by two million to 71.6 million, while the foreign population increased by approximately 7.5 million, reaching 13.1 million, according to data from the Statistics Office. This demographic transformation has permanently altered the social fabric of many regions. Specifically in Germany, the number of "refugees" in 2024 amounted to more than three million, representing a 2.4% increase compared to the previous year.
