—ANIMAL ACTIVISM CANNOT BE NEUTRAL— 🐶 🥊 In their eagerness to be politically correct and avoid damaging #US-#China relations, many people prefer to stay silent, step back, and leave the issue of #AnimalCruelty in China for the Chinese to handle themselves. Statements like "Defending Wang Wang is not anti-China; it’s not about taking sides, it’s about a dog that deserved better" or "This movement belongs to Chinese animal advocates, and our job is simply to stand beside them" reflect a deplorable, fear-driven posture wrapped in absurd political correctness. It achieves nothing. It reveals a painful lack of resolve, commitment, and true love for #WangWang and her puppies. It is heart-breaking to see people prioritize diplomatic pleasantries with a system rife with unchecked abuse (despite honorable exceptions) over raising their voices and fighting for Wang Wang. This hesitation stems from a fear of disturbing trade negotiations, diplomatic ties, and economic interests with a government that doesn't need Americans and that, if it could, would wipe them off the map. Demanding that authorities deliver justice for Wang Wang and countless other animals is, in effect, opposing the status quo in China. Let's be clear: this country does not legally condemn #AnimalAbuse. For far too many, beating, burning, or dismembering a cat or a dog is normalized, culturally tolerated, and completely legal. Stealing, torturing, and slaughtering animals for fun, entertainment, or profit remains an everyday reality. Demanding punishment for the psychopaths who inflict this suffering directly opposes Chinese legal norms and widespread social practices. Calling for #AnimalWelfare legislation also challenges the system, because within that framework, dogs, cats, hamsters, and birds are not treated as sentient beings capable of feeling pain. Instead, they are often reduced to disposable tools used to vent stress, release frustration, and exert a cowardly display of human "superiority." Demanding legal rights for these defenseless creatures directly challenges the state and judicial apparatus that dictates which animals hold value and which are treated as food, toys, or trash. Protesting against animal abuse and the absence of protection laws in China means standing against government inaction—and ultimately, against the prevailing system in the country. As activists, animal defenders, and above all, as human beings, we must take an unequivocal stance: we are either against this cruelty or we enable it. Hesitating to take a side is a lukewarm, cowardly attitude—the very hypocrisy condemned by #Jesus in the scriptures. We must decide where we stand if we intend to move this cause forward. If people want to stop fighting for Wang Wang, CowCat, Fireball, Miko, and the millions of animals tortured and killed daily, they should just admit it—rather than offering cheap excuses to save face. People everywhere understand that our outrage is directed at Chinese abusers, killers, and the system that shields them, not at all Chinese people. Speaking up for Wang Wang means speaking up for every single animal currently being tortured and killed on camera. Do you want to keep fighting for them, or will you ignore their cries of pain? To truly fight for them means confronting the system: the government's inaction, the cruel traditions, the dog meat markets, the festivals of slaughter, the online torture networks, the societal complicity, and the total absence of legal and moral accountability. Of course there are exceptions—brave local activists, rescuers, pet owners, dissidents, and compassionate individuals. But even they understand that to create real pressure, we must advocate for boycotts of products, trade, and tourism. Unfortunately, we cannot shield good people from systemic pressure, but neither can we continue to shield the psychopaths who kill for pleasure. I have made my decision and chosen a side: I will never stop speaking up for defenseless animals, demanding legal protection, and fighting for justice.
