Got stuff done this morning before the heat set in. First, I emptied the rain barrels and watered it all in the thirsty gardens. Then made cuttings from comfrey plants and basil; hoping they take root! And about 1:30 pm, we had a lot of much-needed rain and the rain barrels are almost full again. I sure hope this breaks our drought! The rain dropped our temperature from 101 to 89°F in a matter of minutes. Peppers were picked, Pineapple Sage picked and hung to dry, Malabar Spinach and Sweet potato leaves picked, washed, chopped and in the dehydrator. Also, some of the Malabar Spinach is going bonkers in a compost pile, yay! Cut some turmeric leaves to hang and dry. And I found a couple of turmeric flowers clusters; they're so unusual.
