#SanFrancisco The object of one of my favorite quips is GONE! The long-reviled Villancourt Fountain at the Embarcadero near the Ferry Building. A horrible 1970s monstrosity, everyone has hated it for decades, but it would not go away. Finally it has. My quip? “It looks like a large and untidy beast has had a series of disappointing bowel movements.” Ah, well. I’ll find something new to make fun of.
