Anyways Every moment of reinvigoration for Trump has come from conservatives' contrarian instincts. They correlate progressive chimpouts to him being effective. To the majority of the right, leftists getting mad at Trump atones for his lack of tangible accomplishments. Look at how he is lionized all over again by people on the right who were calling him a traitor 24 hours ago just because of how he responded to a very predictable assassination attempt. His principles and values are unchanged yet there's been a palpable shift in opinion on him over what happened today. Life and politics are very contingent on vibes and Trump is very good on capitalizing on that. Not much else. Leftists see Trump as a proxy and sense of hope for all self-respecting White people. White Americans understand this, so they take slights against him very personally. The problem is that leftists see Trump as this proxy because of a delusional mythos version of him. The right is capable of acknowledging this, yet they compartmentalize it when they interpret slights (which were only motivated by the mythos) against Trump as an indication that he is someone who should be rallied around. TL/DR: I'm still at best ambivalent about Trump and not understanding the new found enthusiasm just because a leftist did something evil
