During his second visit to the potter’s house, Jeremiah was told to “get a potter’s earthen bottle” (Jeremiah 19:1). The LORD then instructed His prophet to “break the bottle in the sight of the men” (Jeremiah 19:10), thereby boldly declaring that the LORD’s judgment was imminent.
